Art is communication. For many emerging artists, this communication is political or cynically offensive. In our current time, much of art has taken a dark turn, reminiscent of Hieronymous Bosch, and, it appears to me, a reaction to a world in which terror, war, and death seem so prevalent. My reaction, in my own art, is slightly different, a minority view, if you will. I believe in the humanity of mankind, the loving connections of friends, lovers, parents and children. The small moments are the brushstrokes that create a beautiful life.
